Michael Kennedy

 

Michael D. Kennedy graduated from Willamette University with a BA in Mathematics in 1974 and then went on to Willamette Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1978.  Following his time at Willamette, Mr. Kennedy worked as an attorney with his father, Olwyn S. Kennedy at Kennedy Bowles Towsley and Soriano.  In 1985 Michael Kennedy became managing partner and the firm was subsequently renamed Kennedy Bowles, P.C., and the organization was restructured and practice areas refocused to what they are today.  Mr. Kennedy is admitted to the bar in Oregon, and is admitted to practice law in all Oregon courts, Oregon Federal District Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Kennedy is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers.  He is also AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.

Michael D. Kennedy’s areas of practice include complex civil litigation, construction defect cases, business litigation, commercial insurance defense, corporate law and plaintiff’s personal injury law including automobile accidents, medical malpractices claims, premises liability and liquor liability.  In addition, Mr. Kennedy performs arbitration and mediation services for attorneys and courts throughout Western Oregon.

S. Kenji Kozuma

 

S. Kenji Kozuma graduated from University of Hawaii with a BA in English in 1992, and then went on to Willamette University College of Law, where he obtained a Juris Doctor in 1995.  During law school, Mr. Kozuma received multiple honors for achievement in moot court competitions and legal research and writing courses.  Thereafter, Mr. Kozuma practiced law for the City of Portland and various firms in and around the Portland area.  In 2000, Mr. Kozuma pursued an MA in English with emphases on Critical Theory, Rhetoric and Composition from Portland State University.  Following this program, Mr. Kozuma continues to practice law, and is admitted to the bar in Oregon, where he is licensed to practice in all Oregon courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.

Mr. Kozuma volunteers at Legal Aid and is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association and the Oregon Minority Lawyers Association.

Jennifer Vitello

 

Jennifer E. Vitello graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in English Literature.  After working as a technical writer at a Fortune 500 company, Ms. Vitello attended Pierce Law School, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2001.  Following receipt of her JD, Ms. Vitello practiced in Massachusetts before coming to Oregon, where she clerked in the Multnomah County Circuit Court for the Honorable Eric Bergstrom and Kenneth Walker.  Jennifer Vitello joined Kennedy Bowles in 2008.  Ms. Vitello is admitted to the bar inactively in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and actively in Oregon.  She is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association and Oregon Association of Defense Counsel.

Jennifer Vitello volunteers with Young Lawyers at Blanchet House, which provides temporary lodging for homeless individuals and serves 1,200 plus meals to the homeless every day.

Jennifer Vitello’s area of practice primarily involves the defense of construction defect cases.

Pamela Paluga

Pamela J. Paluga graduated from UCLA with a BA in Political Science in 1986, and then went on to Suffolk University Law School, where she obtained a Juris Doctor in 1989, graduating cum laude. Since then, Ms. Paluga has practiced law in California, honing her skills in complex construction defect litigation including toxic tort. Ms. Paluga is admitted to the bar in Oregon, where she is licensed to practice in all Oregon courts, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. Additionally, Ms. Paluga holds inactive bar admissions in Nevada, California and Colorado state courts and federal courts (CA – Central District only).

Ms. Paluga joined Kennedy Bowles in January 2010. Ms. Paluga has previously been a member of the Defense Research Institute, ASCDC, and the ABA, and looks forward to renewing her relationship with these, and other, institutions in Oregon and nationally.

Pamela Paluga’s areas of practice include complex civil litigation and construction defect litigation/toxic tort; real estate law, including realtor professional liability defense; and business litigation, including contract, commercial landlord/tenant and business/partnership disputes.
